“So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up”. Galatians 6:9
I have a lot of admiration and respect for the American farmer. They are entrepreneurs who have very few paydays throughout the year, and that’s usually only once a year when they take their harvested crops to market. When they start their planting in the spring, they don’t even know what the market prices will be in the fall, but they plant their crops with the hopes and anticipation that the market will be good and that the weather during growing season will be favorable.
If you offered a farmer the guarantee that he would always have a bountiful harvest, he would either jump at your offer or say you were crazy, because who’s ever heard of such a thing? The farming industry has no guarantees. But when it comes to Christian living, we do have a guarantee of a bountiful harvest, and that guarantee comes from the Father Himself.
Through Paul in Galatians 6, He tells us that if we live our lives through the Spirit, we never need to grow weary or concerned. Paul describes living in the Spirit like a farmer planting seed, and just like the farmer waits for the harvest in faith, we can do the same, but with the knowledge that we will see a harvest of blessing.
Today, encourage yourself in the Lord to keep on living in the Spirit and sowing those good seeds. Keep doing those good things you do, not for man’s glory, but for God’s glory, and as you do you are guaranteed a harvest of blessing.
