“The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).” John 10:10 (Amplified Bible)
There is a lot of talk these days about deficits and deficit spending. It’s hard for me to understand how and why any government, business, or entity of any kind can continue to spend out of what they do not have.
Sadly in the same way people everywhere are spending their lives out of a deficit. They put on a smile when deep down inside they are hurting and empty. They try their best to put a positive spin on their situation, while on the inside they feel hopeless and afraid. Many find themselves needlessly trapped inside the walls of their own fears, hurts and failures when all the while Jesus has come so that we could “have life, and have it more abundantly.”
I’ve just recently gotten to know a young couple who have just gotten married. You can’t help but feel their excitement for life and their enthusiasm for the ministry God has called them to when you’re around them. When I see them, I see the clear picture of what it’s like when God fully supplies. They did not try to go their own way, or the way that most would pursue. They waited on the Lord to bring the right person into their lives and by doing so, they are an example of the abundance that Jesus can provide if we just put our trust in Him.
There is a real joy that comes through living the abundant life that Jesus offers. It’s a joy that you really can’t explain to anyone who has not experienced it and it only comes from putting our trust completely in Him.
Today, there is an abundance you can experience in every area of your life. From your business, career and family, God has provided a life that we can enjoy to the full through Jesus. So today, cast any care you have on Him and in exchange receive by faith the abundance that only He can give.
Today’s Thought: We don’t have to spend our lives in deficit living, when Jesus came that we may have life to the full.
