“Any Thing”

Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. Matthew 18:19

It would be real easy to just say the final component to the “Armor of God” is prayer and just close the book on Ephesians. But Paul instructs us in Ephesians 6:18 to pray with “all prayer” and in the original Greek language that the New Testament was written in which means “all manner of”-as in “all manner or types of prayer.”

Praying for someone else, or as Paul said, “All the Saints everywhere” is the prayer of intercession. This is when we are interceding on behalf of someone else which can be key to unlocking our own blessing and restoration.

As we see in our main verse, Matthew 18:19, there is also power in the prayer of agreement. In this verse Jesus said, “That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.” What I find really amazing here are the two words “any thing.” We often use the two words together as in “anything,” but in this verse they are distinctly separate from each other. What do you think the chances are that this is just coincidental? ”0″(zero)!

Now hang with me for just a moment as we dig a little deeper here and let’s look at the original meaning of these two words. First, the word “any” in the Greek is pas and means: individually, each, every, any, all, the whole, everyone, all things, everything, collectively and some of all types. Secondly, the Greek word for “thing” is pragma which means: that which has been done – a deed, an accomplished fact, what is done or being accomplished, spec. business, a commercial transaction, a matter, question, affair, spec. in a forensic sense, a matter at law, case, suit and that which is or exists, a thing.

Now these two words “any thing” are preceded by the word “touching” which is the Greek word peri and it means: on account of, or because of.

So based on the meaning of the three words, here is what Jesus is saying to us. ”If two on earth agree on the account of, any and everything that has already been accomplished or is already legally binding, you will bring it into existence.” Praise God!!! When Jesus instructed us on how to pray in Mathew 6:10 and Luke 11:2, He is telling us to get in agreement with Heaven and to bring Heaven into the earth or any situation. That’s exactly what Jesus did in His earthly ministry, “He went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed by the devil.”

We’re not asking God to do something here, but we are standing together on something that has already been done by or through the Body and Blood of Jesus and agreeing that it will manifest in the natural realm. God sent His Son into the world that it might be saved, healed, delivered, preserved, protected, made prosperous and made whole.

The prayer of agreement is so powerful because when we put our faith together on a matter, we are 10 times more powerful than we would be on our own. Find someone today to agree with you, and find someone you can agree with and see the “Sozo” of the Lord manifest in both of your lives!

Today’s Thought: The Body and Blood of Jesus is our “Title Deed” to Sozo Salvation, and it’s been recorded in the Court of Heaven!!!
