Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6
A young man near and dear to my heart recently faced a tragic situation and I knew that over the days to come he would hear a lot of voices. I knew the adversary would want him to go adrift in a current of lies. So, those that love him began to flood him with truth, truth in words, truth in action and truth in just being there. In this age of “many voices” how does one ever know the truth?
Not everyone is open to the truth. I know there have times in my life when I haven’t been open to the truth, even though I thought I was. The push back from truth only serves to bring heartache and deception. It’s all designed, by our enemy to keep us from walking in all that God has for us. When you’re deceived, you actually believe the “lie” to be the truth and that can be really scary.
You see the “Truth” isn’t just a good concept, but a Person and His name is Jesus. He said in John 14:6, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” Just as an atom is at the center of all matter, so Jesus is at the center of all truth. The Word says “In Him all things are held together.” To deny the truth in any area of life is to deny Him in that area of life.
So why do we find it so hard to embrace and seek after the truth thus finding ourselves falling victim to our adversaries lies? I believe that often we just don’t trust and as hard as it is to admit, we sometimes just don’t trust God. We’re not really sure at times that He really has our best interest at heart, but the “Truth” is He does. There’s no one that has ever existed that has our best interest at heart more than our Heavenly Father. He’s always trying to lead us to green pastures and the Abundant Life.
Is there any era where you’ve continued to hold the “Truth” at bay? If so, let me encourage you today to embrace the “Truth.” Jesus will never lead you the wrong way. He is a current that you can trust to always lead you in the right direction.
Pray this with me: “Father, help us to cast aside our fears and trust you completely in every thing and in every area of life. May your peace be our guide to the Abundant Life that Jesus so willingly died and was raised from the dead to give us. May we embrace the Person of the “Truth” in everything and at all times, in Jesus Name.”
