God’s plan for you and me is and was to always bring us back to the place of His original intent. A place where we could live “fully supplied” and a place where we would live without shame. Adam and Eve where the first to represent God’s intent, but through their sin of eating from the Tree of The Knowledge of Good and Evil, instead of the Tree of Life, sin came upon us all. But, thank God He provided a way through Jesus.
Jesus would be the Tree of Life that we would be able to constantly eat from and in Him we would be able to experience Salvation in its fulness. Even the name Jesus defined means “Jehovah is salvation.”
To prepare the way God sent John first. John would let the people know that a change was coming, and that “Change” would be the “Way” back to the Father. John 1:17 says, “For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.”
The name John means “Jehovah is a gracious giver.” John the Baptist, as he would be called, looked and acted little different than everyone expected, and so does God’s Grace. His grace looks nothing like one would think. In fact, His grace is more lavish and more abundant than anything we could ever have imagined. And, when His Grace is received into our lives it brings us back to that place where Adam and Eve once lived, a place with NO SHAME.
