“Cast your burden on the Lord,
And He shall sustain you;
He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.” Psalm 55:22
Have you ever been betrayed and wanted to get even? Or, at least maybe you’ve felt like you needed to get the word out in your defense? Through the years, I’ve discovered that in those moments I can trust in and rely on my Heavenly Father to take care of it.
I know it’s hard, in those moments, when you feel as though you’ve been misjudged, mistreated, or misunderstood, but the truth is our Father is big enough and good enough to make every crooked place straight.
David found this truth to be evident in his life. As seen in 2 Samuel 19-20, some of the very ones who shouted curses at him as he left the throne of Jerusalem on the run from Absalom’s rebellion, came back and repented and asked for David’s forgiveness. And, although David was known as a mighty warrior and even a hot-head at times, he extended mercy and grace to those that sought forgiveness. What a picture of the Father’s heart!
Today, we don’t have to worry or fret over the enemy’s schemes toward us through others. Our Father will take it, handle it and turn it all around if we just simply cast those cares upon Him.
