“Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.” Isaiah 53:4-5
Some years ago, my car broke down at my office. There was nothing I could do to get it to start, so I knew it would need to be towed to a repair shop. Times were a little tight, so both a towing and repair bill just wasn’t in order. Not knowing what to do, I prayed about it and within just a few minutes I was reminded that the auto insurance company I had just recently signed on with included towing as one of the added benefits of the policy. The call was made, and sure enough, in no time the tow truck arrived, taking my car to the repair shop.
Sadly, many of us as believers have never taken advantage of all we are entitled to through our “Salvation package.” You see, when Jesus went to the cross, He didn’t just die to save us from our sins and get us to Heaven, He also took stripes on his back for our healing, and the chastisement of our peace was upon Him, along with so much more. In fact, He was even rejected by the Father, so we could forever be accepted.
When you consider the word “Saved” in the New Testament is the Greek word, Sozo, and in combination with the word, Soteria, the Greek word for Salvation, it takes on a whole new meaning. It literally means to be saved, healed, delivered, preserved, protected, made prosperous and made whole.
In John 10:10, Jesus said that He came that we may have life and have it to the full, which means in abundance, until it overflows. Our Heavenly Father wants us to know about and receive all that Jesus paid the price for when He died on the cross! So today, you can know that whatever you stand in need of, it has already been provided for and is included in your Salvation. All we have to do is just simply receive by faith.
