BETTER THAN NEW

Who will come from Mount Zion to rescue Israel? When God restores his people, Jacob will shout with joy, and Israel will rejoice. Psalm 53:6

The TV show Overhaulin’ had great success on both TLC and the Discovery Channel for several seasons. In each episode the “mark” would be an unsuspecting antique or classic car owner that would make the list to have their car fully restored. Family members would be in on the ruse coming up with some story as to why the car was missing long enough to be restored. But it would all be worth it for the car owner once reunited with their fully restored vehicle much to their tearful surprise. Some classic car enthusiast really know how to take an old rusted out clunker and turn it into a real beauty, and often better than when it rolled off the assembly line. In most cases the paint is better, the interior is better and even the mechanics are far more superior to that of factory specs. Yes, while it can be the same car it’s just simply better than new.

In much the same way it can be said that when God restores something it’s “better than new.” Job found this out for himself when God restored back to him everything the enemy had stolen. Job got back double for his trouble as everything that had been taken from him God replaced times two.

Our Father wants to take those things in our lives that need restoring and make them better than anything we could imagine. That’s what He specializes in! So just how good can He restore something in our lives that is broken you might ask. The Apostle Paul give us the answer in Ephesians 3:20-21 where he writes; Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen

What do you need restoring in your life? A marriage, finances, health, a relationship? Today, whatever that may be take it to the “Master Restorer” and let Him make it better than new.
