“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
One of the fond memories I have of my kids as they were growing up was asking them, “Do you love me?” They would reply with a resounding, “Yes!”, to which I would then ask, “Well how much do you love me?” Then they would stretch their arms apart as far as they could go and say, “This much!” Thinking about it now just warms my heart.
If you ask the Father that same question, He would respond in a similar fashion by pointing you to what took place just over 2,000 years ago. He would point you to that moment when Jesus stretched out His arms as far as He could so that His hands could be nailed to the cross.
No two verses sum up the Gospel any better than John 3:16-17 which says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.”
Today, let this truth sink way down deep in your heart as you’re reminded of just how much the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit loves you this big!
