“So Israel came up to Baal-perazim, and David defeated the Philistines there. Then David said, ‘God has broken through my enemies by my hand, like the breakthrough of waters.’ Therefore they named that place Baal-perazim.” 1 Chronicles 14:11
Have you ever noticed that in the moment God is doing something new and big in your life, the enemy comes right in with an attack? It seems that just as God is bringing increase, promotion, or blessing in an area that our adversary comes in simultaneously with an attack to cause distraction and defeat.
We see in 1 Chronicles 14 that just as David became King, immediately the Philistines came to attack. But how did David respond? He sought the Lord for wisdom on what to do.
I can relate to this! Just recently I was seeing God do some incredible things that were bringing expansion in my life in both business and ministry, and at that very same time I found myself under intense attack in both areas. It didn’t take me long to realize that I was in the cross hairs of my adversary and that he wanted to stop the forward progress I was experiencing. Right away, I began to seek the Lord for answers on what to do, and just like David, God gave me specific instructions on what to do.
In fact, just as Jesus talks about in Matthew 18:19-20, I even sought the help of my wife and some dear friends in praying with me and for me, and it was through one of these friends that very specific instructions came to me and I knew without a doubt it was from the Lord.
What I experienced as a result of following the Lord’s instructions was breakthrough! I saw the Lord break through all the strategies and tactics that the enemy was using against my business and ministry, and on the other side of the victory I’m still thanking the Lord!
What strategies and tactics is your adversary using against you? Whatever that may be, seek the Lord today for wisdom and direction, and even enlist the help of some trustworthy friends. The Lord will answer you and you will see the breakthrough!
