MORE THAN ENOUGH

“And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need, and plenty left over to share with others.” 2 Corinthians 9:8

Have you ever found yourself in a place where you felt like you had nothing? That’s exactly how the widow in 2 Kings 4 felt. After her husband passed away and she was left with a mountain of debt she felt desperate. When she came to Elisha for help, his question to her was “What do you have?” And first her response was “nothing.” Then she said, “except a small jar of oil.” I doubt the thought of that little jar of oil gave her any hope when compared to her need. But that’s all God needed.

You see, no matter how desperate things may seem in the moment, when we come to God for answers, He usually starts with what we have, even if what we have seems small and insignificant. I know there have been times in my own life when I would pray and ask Him to lead me out of a desperate situation, or at least it seemed desperate to me at the time, and He would start with what I had.

There’s a gift in you, a talent, an ability, a desire, or a dream that He will start with to take you to from where you are, to where He wants you to be. The key this in found in our turning to Him and following His leading step by step. Before you know it, you’ll be stepping your way right out of the place of desperation and into the place of abundance He wants you to be. How do we know He wants us to be in abundance or overflow? Because Jesus made it “abundantly” clear in John 10:10 when He said, “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”

Today start with where you are and what you have. Give it to him and let Him lead you into more than enough.
