ALWAYS FAITHFUL

If we are faithless, he remains faithful, for he cannot disown himself.   2 Timothy 2:13

His boots were always shined, his uniform was always crisp and he was always willing and ready to do what needed to be done. He was what we called a “squared away Marine.” As a young Marine at Camp Lejeune, Morales was two years my senior and I looked up to him. I didn’t get to know him all that well, but anytime I was around him he always impressed me. Within a year or so Morales transferred out and I never saw him again, until he popped up as a Face Book friend suggestion twenty some years later.

I sent him that friend request and our messaging back and forth led to a phone call. I was amazed to hear what God had done in his life over the years. He had been in law enforcement, but was now in full time ministry. Vince Morales and his wife Michelle now live in San Diego and have a fruitful ministry there. Just over the last few months I’ve called on Vince a number of times and shared things with him that were on my heart. In this season he has stood with me, prayed with me, and given me words of encouragement that I knew God was speaking directly to me through Vince. I know that I have a brother in Vince, and even though he’s on the other side of the country, I know I can pick up the phone, or message him any time I need and he is always faithful.

Semper fidelis is a Latin phrase that means “always faithful” or “always loyal” and it’s the Moto of the Marines. Marines learn to count on one another in times of battle. Marines fight for one another more than anything else and it’s that bond that gets them through. I’m sure your thinking of friends like that in your on life right now. Those friends that you know you can call day or night, that are always there for you when you need them.

Our Heavenly Father is “Always Faithful.” 2 Timothy 2:13 in the Amplified Version says, If we are faithless, He remains faithful [true to His word and His righteous character], for He cannot deny Himself. We can always count on Him and come to Him any time with our hurts, our weaknesses, our sorrows and our joys. He is there to hear us and help us when we call.  So don’t hesitate to take advantage of Jeremiah 33:3, which says, Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.”

He, is always faithful!
