“The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my savior
my God is my rock, in whom I find protection.” Psalm 18:2
They say that a mama bear with small cubs is something you don’t want to mess with. A North Carolina family discovered this as they let their two dogs out to potty late one afternoon. Backyard video cameras captured the footage of their dogs spotting a mamma black bear in their backyard and giving chase. While the two cubs climbed up a tree, the mama bear went into attack mode and ran the dogs off without injury. Black bears, not known to be aggressive, can become like grizzlies when their little ones are in present danger.
In Psalm 18, David describes our Heavenly Father, who is known for His mercy, love and compassion, as a fierce protector. David cried out to the Lord for help, and in verses seven through fifteen, the Lord responds like a fierce mamma bear protecting her own.
