“The Lord is a warrior; Yahweh is his name!” Exodus 15:3
Pharaoh had no idea what was coming. Some believe that he was so full of himself, as king of the most advanced civilization and leader of the world’s most vast and skilled army, that he actually believed he was a god and that the Red Sea opened up just for him. He learned quickly, however, that the Lord Himself was fighting for Israel and against him. As chariot wheels began to faulter, horses became confused, and the army was confounded, Pharaoh shouted out, “Let’s get out of here—away from these Israelites! The Lord is fighting for them and against Egypt!”
At times it may feel like you’re in the battle alone. Life, circumstances, and just the outright attack of the adversary can seem overwhelming. But we must remember that we are never alone. Our God, “The Lord Yahweh,” fights for us because He loves us and wants to protect us, His children. We may or may not see our enemy swallowed beneath the waves, but we can rest assured that the Lord fights for us in ways that we will never see.
I can recall specific moments when I knew, without a doubt, that Yahweh had been fighting for me, and I’m sure you can do the same as well. But how many times has He fought for us that we’ve never seen? You may never know, this side of Heaven, the things you didn’t experience or go through all because your ever-watching Lord was fighting for you. Today, be reminded that your Heavenly Father is, “The Lord a warrior, Yahweh is His name!”
