“But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us spreads and makes evident everywhere the sweet fragrance of the knowledge of Him.” 2 Corinthians2:14 (AMP)
If you’re like most believers, you’ve prayed a prayer at some point in your life, if not often, saying “God please use me.” And in answer to that prayer, we often know without any doubt just what God is doing through our lives and exactly how He’s using us. But sometimes, and sometimes often, we may not realize in the moment just what God is doing. The path He may be leading us down, or the circumstances surrounding the answer to our prayer may seem unconventional. In those times it may take “a minute” to see and realize exactly what God is up to.
An Israelite couple desperately wanted a child, and their prayers were finally answered in the birth of their son, Samson. Samson, however, would be everything other than the traditional boy. Even before his birth, God had marked him and would use him in a mighty way to pay the Philistines back for their cruel captivity and rule over Israel.
Even when Samson wanted to marry a Philistine woman who had caught his eye, much to his parent’s dismay, Judges 14:4 tells us what God was up to. “His father and mother didn’t realize the Lord was at work in this, creating an opportunity to work against the Philistines, who ruled over Israel at that time.”
Today, let’s be willing for God to use us any way He sees fit. Let’s trust that as He is working, even if it seems out of the ordinary, He is creating opportunities for His glory.
